| Update to Skills Assessment process for PhD holders |

| Currently VETASSESS considers paid doctoral research level studies as valid employment for skills assessment purposes.
Please be advised that as of 15 December 2018, VETASSESS will not accept paid doctoral studies for skills assessment purposes, consistent with the Department of Home Affairs requirements.
For skilled employment to be considered ‘remunerated’, applicants must be engaged in the occupation on a paid basis, generally at the award or market rate of the occupation. A person receiving minimal living allowances or scholarships designed to cover study expenses would not be considered to be ‘remunerated’.
VETASSESS will continue to ensure that impact on its clients is minimised during the transition leading up to the implementation date. Applications received prior to 15 December 2018 will be processed according to the criteria at the time of applying.

- 2018년 11월 22일 – NSW 주 같은 경우 2017-2018 회계년도 (2017년 7월 1일 – 2018년 6월 30일 사이) 5천 226명의 주정부스폰서쉽 비자 (489 비자를 위한 노미네이션 1천 440명 포함)를 위해서 노미네이션을 해줬다는 소식입니다. 2018-19 회계년도 쿼타는 아직 연방정부로 부터 확답을 받지는 못했지만 지난해와 비슷한 숫자가 되지 않겠나 예상한다고 하고요.지금 현재 지방에 거주하는 것에 대해 관심이 쏟아지고 있다고 합니다. The department successfully delivered the selection-based skilled migration program to boost productivity and strengthen the NSW economy. In 2017–18, NSW nominated 5,226 skilled migrants to the federal government, including 1,440 skilled migrants nominating to live and work in regional NSW—a key focus for the department.We are still awaiting our formal allocation from the Department of Home Affairs for 2018–19, but we anticipate a similar-sized program to be delivered. Excitingly, we have welcomed new areas of NSW into our regional nominated migration program, which have already been flooded with interest.The Department of Industry thanks all stakeholders for their support in the last financial year and we look forward to another productive program year ahead where we will continue to build on our success and promote the message that NSW is ‘open for business’.
- 2018년 11월 21일 – ACT 캔버라 190 주정부 스폰서쉽 신청이 2018년 11월 29일 부터 다시 열립니다. 2가지 스테이지로 처리된다고 하니 아래 참고하세요. From 29 November 2018, applying for ACT 190 nomination is a two stage process:
- You must formally express your clients interest in applying for ACT 190 nomination by completing a score-based ‘Canberra Matrix’ where they are allocated points against demonstrated economic contribution or benefit and/or a genuine commitment to be part of the ACT community. Scores of 20 points and above will be ranked. The highest ranked candidates under the scoring system will then be selected and invited to apply for ACT 190 nomination. (ACT에서 만든 자체 점수표가 있고 높은 점수를 얻는 신청인들에게 유리하겠습니다)
- If they are invited to apply for ACT 190 nomination, you must complete and submit the online application (and pay the service fee) within 14 days. You must attach the required documents to evidence your client’s eligibility and Matrix score. If you cannot evidence the Matrix score that the invitation was based on, the application for ACT 190 nomination will not meet the nomination criteria. - 말많은 SAF 를 불허할려고 시도한 법안은 철회되었다고 합니다. 따라서 SAF는 아직 유효하게 됩니다. SAF Disallowance Motion Withdrawn – SAF Remains In Effect The motion of disallowance lodged previously that would have resulted in the SAF (Skilling Australians Fund) Regulations being disallowed has been withdrawn, which results in the SAF Regulations that include payment requirements for the SAF levy continuing to be in effect for the affected visa programs includes the subclass 482, 186 and 187 employer sponsored visa programs.
- 417 워킹할러데이비자는 현재 31세 미만까지 신청이 가능함을 아실 것입니다. 그런데 두 나라 시민권자 (여권을 가진 신청인) 들은 35세미만까지 허용하는 법이 2018년 11월 1일부터 도래합니다. 카나다와 아일랜드 시민권자들이 그들입니다. 한국 포함 나머지 국가들은 31세미만으로 동일하고요. 이 법이 부작용이 없어 다른 나라에도 확대적용되길 기원해 봅니다. (From 1 November 2018, Canadian and Irish citizens up to and including, 35 years of age will be eligible to apply for a Working Holiday (subclass 417) visa. This is an increase from the current maximum age of 30 years, which remains the maximum for all other Working Holiday countries.)”
- ACT 190 주정부스폰서쉽 프로그램이 2018년 11월 29일 부터 다시 열립니다. (The ACT 190 Nominated program will reopen on 29 November 2018.) 이 글을 작성하는 시점에서는 해외 거주 신청인들은 신청을 못하지만 2018년 11월 29일부터 다시 신청이 가능함. 따라서 늘 그렇지만 준비된 분들만이 신청자격이 될 수 있음에 현재 close되었다 할 지라도 기회를 엿봐야 하지 않을까 싶습니다. 지금 snapshot을 두고 보면 아 불가능하구나 하지만 또 open 된 후 보면 조건이 안되어 open 되어 있지만 신청자격이 안되기 때문입니다. 부단히 영어공부하면서 실력향상하시고 open 되면 조건 맞춰 신청해 볼 수 있길 바라마지 않습니다. 모두에게 행운도 함께 하길…
