I have potential client who is a Chef. Is the Job Ready Program Final Outcome letter suitable for a 186 Direct Entry visa application or do they need new assessment? If it can be used, would the 2 years’ employment experience included in the outcome letter be appropriate to include in the 3 years experience for 186?
Usual agent told them they couldn’t apply for 186 and would need to apply for a new 482 and the skills assessment is the only reason I can see that could potentially be a grey area for them.

Further skill assessment is not required.

The Job Ready Program (JRP) documentation is satisfactory. We have successfully processed numerous applications under subclass 186.

Hi all

Does anyone see an issue with lodging a 186DE as a chef when the applicant’s skills assessment is for both chef and cook. The skills assessment is from TRA and is job ready final assessment. The one assessment is for both occupations.

I don’t see any issues with this. I checked the files of two of our previous 485 applicants.

For the TRA provisional skills assessment, both had been assessed as successful for at least two occupations- Chef and Cook for one applicant, and Chef, Cook and Pastrycook for the other one.

Both applicants were working as Chefs. I think the reason for this is that they had multiple qualifications, and those qualifications aligned with more than one occupation that TRA assessed.

For the second applicant, I have the Job Ready Final Assessment Outcome on our file and similarly, it was a positive skills assessment for the occupations of Chef, Cook and Pastrycook. His work experience was as a Chef.
