Enter the unique number that identifies the person’s passport/ImmiCard. The passport number is located on the same page as the person’s photograph and is sometimes called the document number. It can contain letters as well as numbers.
Australian ImmiCard holders
Visa holders who do not hold a passport or a valid travel document may have been issued with an ImmiCard. The ImmiCard number is printed on the front of the ImmiCard and contains three letters (either EIS or PRE) and six numbers.
PLO56 holders
Enter PLO56 as the passport number.
Visa holders may not hold a passport, ImmiCard or a valid travel document and may have been issued with a Visa Evidence Card, also known as a PLO56. The PLO56 is an administrative form provided by the department as an identity document. The Visa Evidence Card however does not have a unique number to identify each document. As such you must enter PLO56 as the passport number.
VEVO cannot automatically return visa information when a search on a PLO56 holder is conducted. Instead, registered organisation account holders are recommended to enter the letter “X” followed by “PLO56” in the Passport / ImmiCard number field and the visa holder’s nationality in the Country of Passport / ImmiCard field
Document For Travel To Australia (DFTTA) holders
Enter the unique number printed in the top right hand corner of the DFTTA as the passport number.
DFTTAs are issued for the purpose of travel to Australia. The document is valid for single entry to Australia – the document also serves as a key identity documents.
Should you receive an error message stating ‘The Department has not been able to identify the person’, please complete the online referral form in VEVO.
