이미 작년 2021년  7월에 공지한 내용이지만 오늘 (2022년 10월 19일) MIA 협회에서 이민성으로 부터 받은 내용으로 작년에 공지한 내용을 확인해주는 내용이 아래와 같고 이 내용을 공유해 드립니다.

The MIA has been receiving a number of queries from members regarding whether the period of 12 months of the program had to be within the 48 months prior to being invited. The Department has confirmed that in order to be awarded 5 points for completing a professional year, you must have started and completed the course within the 48 months prior to being invited. The Department has taken the view that the term “completed” is more than just the end of the program and is referring to all parts or elements of the course therefore, the full 12 months of the program needs to occur in the 48 months prior to invitation.

Professional year 라고 해서

호주에서 교육을 마친 경우 회계, ICT, 엔지니어 출신들의 경우 12개월간 인턴을 할 수 있습니다.

Professional year programs

For the purposes of the definition of professional year in subregulation 2.26AC(6) of the Regulations, any of the following professional year programs are specified courses:

(a)      The Professional Year Program provided by the Australian Computer Society which is available to information technology graduates;

(b)     The Professional Year Program provided by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Certified Practising Accountants Australia and the Institute of Public Accounting which is available to accounting graduates;

(c)      The Professional Year Program provided by Engineers Australia which is available to engineering graduates.

이런 경우 점수를 5점 추가로 받게 됩니다.

그런데 이때 주의해야 할 포인트가 있습니다.

바로 PY를 마친 기간입니다.

보통 4년 안에 마치면 인정되는 것으로 알고 있지만 이 부분을 좀더 정확히 알아야합니다.
PY가 최소 12개월이어야 한다는 것은 쉽게 이해가 됩니다.

그리고 PY의 시작된 날부터 4년만 인정이 된다는 사실을 잊지 않아야 합니다.
다시 말해서 2018년 1월 1일 부터 PY를 시작 하고 2018년 12월 31일 정확히 만 12개월 만에 마쳤다고 할때

이 PY의 유효기간은 2022년 1월 1일 전이어야 합니다. 즉 2021년 12월 31일 까지만 유효한 것이 되는 것입니다. 마친 날부터 4년이 아니라 시작한 날부터 4년 이라는 점을 꼭 잊지 마세요.
