International student graduates

If you have graduated from a tertiary institution in Tasmania after studying in the state for a minimum of one academic year (40 weeks at a CRICOS registered institution) you can apply for a state sponsored visa. (2018년 1월 1일부터 489 비자는 1년으로 계속 남아 있지만 190 비자용은 2년 유학기간으로 바뀜에 유의)

Many entrepreneurial graduates establish businesses in Tasmania which boost the economy and also create local jobs. Graduates who apply for a Tasmanian Government nominated visa need to commit to staying in Tasmania for two years after their visa is issued. (주정부 스폰서쉽을 받는 경우 타지에서 2년간 거주를 해야 함. 이것은 다른 주도 동일한 조건임)

International students who graduate in Tasmania are given key advantages: (주요 특전은 다음과 같음)

• applicants may select an occupation from the Tasmanian Skilled Occupations List (TSOL) and the occupations listed on the Migration Instrument 2017 (IMMI 17/072: Specification of Occupations and Assessing Authorities)  (주정부 스폰서쉽 신청을 위해서 두가지 직업군에서 선택이 가능함)
• applicants for the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) must use the shorter Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). (189 비자를 위한 신청인을 위한 직업군)
• there are no quotas on occupations (이게 색다른 특징 및 장점: 아예 직업군별 quota가 없다는 점)
• nominees do not have to wait for an invitation to apply through Department of Immigration and Boarder Protection (DIBP), they can apply as soon as their EOI is submitted by State Growth staff in SkillSelect (주정부에서  선택되면 바로 EOI 초대가 발행됨. 신청인이 연방정부에서 발행해야 하는 EOI를 기다릴 필요 무)
• applicants receive priority processing at the Department of State Growth and at the DIBP, speeding up the time it takes to be issued a visa (신청인이 우선 처리를 받기 때문에 처리시간도 빠르게 되고 결국 빠른 비자를 받음)
• Tasmanian Government nomination provides extra points in the DIBP points test. To check your points click on the interactive points calculator (nomination provides 5 points for the 190 and 10 points for the 489) (다른 주와 다 같은 동일한 특징으로서 신청인 10점을 489 비자용으로 5점을 190 비자용으로 받음)
• applicants who have studied in ‘regional’ Australia for two years receive extra points (DIBP categorises all of Tasmanian as regional) (이 또한 다른 주와 동일한 내용으로 추가 5점을 더 받게 됨. 타지같은 경우는 전지역이 regional 이기 때문에 타지 어디에 머물며 공부를 해도 regional study 조건에 해당이 됨)

To apply, you must fulfil the DIBP requirement: (여기에 언급된 것처럼 타지에서 공부를 하더라도 반드시 아래 조건을 만족해야 함. 타주에서 유학을 해도 이 내용은 동일함에 유의; 다만 노미네이션 되어 EOI 받는데 더 많은 혜택과 빠른 처리가 될 수 있음을 위에 언급되어 있음)

• score at least 60 points for the DIBP points test (including 10 points allocated for 489 State nomination) click on the interactive points calculator to check points score (489 비자용 노미네이션 점수 10점 포함하여  최소 60점을 만족하는가?)
• have a valid and positive skills assessment for your nominated occupation which is on the combined list of eligible skilled occupations. (유효한 기술심사 통과되었는가?)
• have at least ‘competent English’ and provide evidence of this with a recognised English language test or hold a passport of the UK, Ireland, the USA, Canada or New Zealand. (최소 IELTS 6.0 x 4 를 확보했는가?)

Ling Woollams’s story (사례1)

When I was still in the uni, I started working at the Tahune Air Walk and after I graduated I started to look for a full time position or a job relevant to what I studied and I found an accounting job and I am an auditor at the moment.

The students who graduated at the University of Tasmania can get the State nominated visa which is what I got.

I’d like to tell the people in China to choose Tasmania because if you want a real life, I think you’d better come here and have a look.

When I was in Beijing I worked in a really good company and my salary was good but I was so busy I had to work over 12 hours a day. I think most people are like that.

After I moved to Tasmania I could breathe the cleanest air and drink the cleanest water. I feel I am enjoying my life every day.

I ask my friends why they choose the University of Tasmania and it is because the university fees are lower than the other university. Also, because they want to practice their English but they go to Sydney or Melbourne there are just too many Chinese so they didn’t get their chance to practice their English.

Mustafa Ali’s story (사례2)

I work as Tasmanian Territory Manager for Red Bull in Launceston. I studied in the Hobart campus of UTAS, absolutely enjoyed living and working there as well.

I started working as a brand ambassador for brands like Microsoft, Sony and Samsung while I was studying.  They were all casual roles but I knew that I was on a learning stage, I was getting experience, I knew once I finished my degree I would be able to get a full time job based on the experience and the skilled I was learning while I was studying.

And it paid off. Once I finished my degree it paid off. Red Bull was looking for a Territory Manager based in Launceston and I applied. Luckily I found this job and it is all because of the experience and hard work I put in while I was studying.

In terms of employment opportunities, all the big brands, big companies are operating in Tasmania and they are always looking for people who have got some good skills.
